NewLoved it! 😍

Haven't had this much fun on an "eating tour" through Italy since Frances Mayes' Under the Tuscan Sun. Grab your fork and enjoy!     Https://lucreziaobrien.com

Bring your appetite, walking shoes, and a camera when you dive into this lively, luscious cookbook. This delicious blend of travelogue and food serves up heaping helpings of culture as well as local color, history, and recipes. There's plenty of fun and camaraderie along the way as the author guides readers on a "food tour" through Italy and the enjoyment of cooking.

The tour covers twelve different regions. It begins in the Tuscany region of Lucca. Home of Puccini, the area is known for hearty, simple fare, and fresh ingredients.

Each segment of the book is preceded by a short "travelogue" discussion of the region from which that particular segment's recipes originate. It includes a collection of favorite recipes plus multiple maps and color photos of the author's cooking classes, select dishes, people met, and places visited. ("Food walking tours" in Rome? Sign me up!)

Recipes are arranged by course, including Antipasti and Breads, Entrees and Meat Dishes, Soup and Stew and Sauces, and Salads and Desserts. You can almost taste the Pasta Fagioli and smell the Salsa Di Broccoli (Broccoli Pasta Sauce) simmering on the stove.

Recipes are formatted in dual columns. Ingredients are on the left. Instructions are on the right. Recipes are laid out in a step-by-step format that's easy to follow. Preparation and cooking times and the number of servings are included. Ditto "serve with" suggestions as appropriate.

I haven't had this much fun on an "eating tour" through Italy since Frances Mayes' Under the Tuscan Sun. So grab your fork, lace up your shoes, and enjoy. Non Si Vive Di Solo Pane! "(One does not live by bread alone!")
